Most people going through a divorce in Florida represent themselves. Download the Sarasota County divorce packets below, fill them in free, and get typing help or a notary if you want it.
We cannot tell you which forms you need or what to write on them. If you are unsure, contact the 12th Circuit's Family Self-Help program (linked on the resources page) or a Florida attorney.
These are the four dissolution of marriage packets the 12th Judicial Circuit uses for Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties. Every form in each packet downloads from here as a blank PDF, exactly as the court publishes it, and you can fill most of them free in your browser. We cannot tell you which packet applies; the court's own description is under each title, and the flow chart in each packet walks you through it.
Packet 1 · 12th Judicial Circuit
Simplified Dissolution of Marriage
The court describes this for spouses who both agree the marriage is irretrievably broken, have no minor or dependent children, are not expecting a child, and have already arranged how to divide property and debts.
Dissolution of Marriage with Dependent or Minor Children
The court describes this for spouses with dependent or minor children together, or when either spouse is expecting a child. Divorcing parents must also complete an approved parenting class.
If you'd rather not fill out the forms yourself, our Document Preparation Service can type your petition and related paperwork from the information you give us. We are not attorneys — we cannot give legal advice or tell you which forms to use — and we provide the required Disclosure from Nonlawyer with every family law document we help prepare. Starting at $300.
Once your forms are signed, they'll need a notary. Our Family Court Packet ($99) includes the Form Helper and a mobile notary visit can be booked separately — $85 per visit covers one packet or two documents, then $10 each additional.
