Home › Guides › Does a Living Trust Need to Be Notarized?
General information only. This is not legal advice. We are not attorneys and cannot tell you which forms or documents you need or what to put on them. Rules and forms change; confirm details with the official sources linked here.
The honest answer
It depends on the documents and on who prepared them. We are a notary service, not attorneys, so we cannot tell you what Florida law requires for your trust.
Why notarization often comes up
- Trust documents commonly include a notary acknowledgment.
- Banks and title companies may ask for notarized certifications of trust.
Questions to ask whoever prepared your documents
- Which of my documents must be notarized?
- Do any need witnesses, and who may serve?
- Should everyone sign on the same day?
What a notary does at the signing
- Checks each signer's government photo ID
- Confirms the signer is present, willing, and aware
- Watches the signature and completes the notarial certificate
A notary cannot explain the documents, recommend changes, or act as your legal advisor.
